Celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day - Tuesday, May 18th @ noon MT
Accessibility is about maximizing the potential of individuals with disabilities to make all communities, including the STEM community, more vibrant, diverse, and inclusive (https://www.washington.edu/doit/about/overview). There are strategies educators and program leads can employ in both in-person and online learning that can make STEM programming more accessible, engaging, and inclusive.
Join NGCP as we celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day via this webinar held on May 18 featuring Crystal R. Emery, founder and CEO of URU The Right to Be and Sheryl Burgstahler, Director of the University of Washington’s Accessible Technology and DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking and Technology), UW-IT.
In this webinar, Crystal and Sheryl will share about the importance of accessibility and will provide resources and ideas for how to make your programming more accessible as well as how to increase awareness about the importance of accessibility. They will also share what they, and others working to promote accessibility, have learned during the pandemic and how it may influence the future of accessible learning.
