SUMMARY:World Space Week: Bringing Aerospace Careers to Life Through STEM
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate World Space Week by helping young people discover where an interest in aerospace STEM could take them. In this interactive training\, afterschool and summer educators will explore how hands-on aerospace activities can introduce youth to real-world careers and help them understand the STEM knowledge and skills professionals use every day. \nUsing examples from meteorology\, the basics of flight and aerospace engineering\, participants will learn how to start with an aerospace career and build an engaging activity around it—connecting what youth are doing and learning to the people\, skills and possibilities behind the work. \nDesigned for educators serving youth in grades K–8\, the training will use STEM Next’s Career Framework to help participants create meaningful career-connected learning experiences. Participants will leave with practical strategies\, ready-to-use activity examples and aerospace career profiles they can use during World Space Week and throughout the year to help young people see the possibilities—and themselves—in future STEM careers. Participants will also have an opportunity to win STEM kits or a $100 gift card for their programs. REGISTER: https://stemnext.org/events/world-space-week-ccl-training/

SUMMARY:Girls Who Code Upskill Series: Build Your AI Operating System Responsibly
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re starting a business or launching a career search\, learning to set up an AI tooling instance that solves real problems for you is the core skill anyone entering today’s workforce needs to thrive. A “personal operating system” is simply a set of AI tools\, set up by you and trained on your own context\, that helps you get your real work done. This hands-on virtual session is intermediate-level\, but no coding background needed. \n  \nEach participant sets up the first piece of their own personal operating system\, an AI tool trained on their own goals and context (their job search\, their projects\, or their business) that solves a real problem they face. They leave with something they built themselves and can keep extending. \n  \nHow it works (3 sprints on our POP-IT framework): \n\nSet up your context: Teach the AI who you are and what you’re working on\nBuild the core: Create the tool that solves a real problem for you\nMake it yours: Build a simple interface and learn how to keep growing it after the session\n\n  \nBy attending this event\, participants will gain: \n\nA working starting point for their own personal OS\,\nPlus the mindset and habits to keep building for themselves\, in their careers or their own ventures\n\n  \nThis event will be recorded and posted on this page within 7 days after the event. \nThis event is scheduled to end at 7:30pm Eastern Time. \n  \nIf you have any questions about this event or our Upskill Series\, please email collegeandcareers@girlswhocode.com. \nRegister
