SUMMARY:Fund IRL: Turn Social Media Accountability into Youth Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Across the country\, lawsuits are underway over the impact of social media on youth well-being. If these cases result in settlements or other payouts\, those dollars could create a powerful opportunity to invest in what young people need most: real-life connection. These social media payouts could support programs that help young people thrive — after-school and summer programs\, mental health supports\, safe spaces\, caring mentors\, and opportunities to build belonging and resilience. Fund IRL is a national coalition working to ensure potential funds from social media litigation support these programs. Fund IRL is mobilizing leaders across the country to ensure these funds strengthen the programs young people rely on. The decision has not been made; this moment matters. What happens next will determine whether these funds disappear into budgets\, or reach the young people they’re meant to help. Join us to learn about Fund IRL work\, details about the coalition working to turn social media accountability into youth opportunity\, and ways to activate and advocate to invest in the well-being of young people in our country. \nRegister
