Supercomputing Challenge Summer Teacher Institute - Tuesday, July 21-22, 2020
The Supercomputing Challenge Summer Teacher Institute is for NM middle and high school teachers interested in gaining skills that can lead to award-winning student projects. We have partnered with UNM and NM EPSCOR to start a Data Science pilot project for our Challenge teachers. We will be using open source resources from Data Carpentries, an international project to increase data science understanding. Topics covered will relate to research concepts, data visualization, software and best practices for successful SCC teams. Participating teachers will receive a stipend for participating in the STI and a monthly PLC starting in October. Sponsoring at least 1 Supercomputing Challenge team is an expectation for receiving the stipend. We will accept up to 20 participants for this pilot project.
