Engage: Facilitating Service-Learning in Afterschool

Learn about the mindshift needed to engage young people as authentic partners through service-learning, and how service-learning is different than community service. We will walk through the framing ideas and the steps to create and facilitate valuable youth experiences, including the IPARD process of Investigation, Preparation and Planning, Reflection, and Demonstration. At each level, we will share examples and tools that can be used and adapted for your program participants. You will leave ready to begin or enhance your afterschool program!
